If you have a Warehouse in the UK and ship your orders quickly and efficiently then Amazon Seller Fulfilled Prime might be for you.
So, a few months ago I wrote a Blog all about Fulfillment by Amazon otherwise known as FBA. In a nutshell this is where you send your products to Amazon and they ship your products for you. If you choose to go down the FBA route your products will then be eligible for ‘Prime’ so Amazon Prime customers can get your items delivered for free the next day. Sometimes though I sit down with a Retailer or Manufacturer and they tell me they are quite happy to fulfill their own orders and fulfill them quickly-this is where Seller Fulfilled Prime might be a good option.
How does Seller Fulfilled Prime work?
First of all you have to go through a trial period to qualify for Seller Fulfilled Prime (the trial involves shipping a minimum of 50 Prime orders with 100% ‘on time’ shipping), you store your own Inventory in your own Warehouse, you buy your own labels from Amazon approved carriers, you ship your orders on the same day and Seller Fulfilled carriers collect and ship your orders to your customers within one day.

Now to be eligible you must have a professional Amazon Seller account and you must have your own Warehouse in the UK-if you don’t then Seller Fulfilled Prime is not for you! You must also be very efficient when it comes to fulfilling your orders. In fact Amazon state that you must ship over 99% of your orders on time and you must also agree to Amazon’s return policy.
The cost of Seller Fulfilled Prime varies as it consists of the Transportation Fee of the Amazon approved carriers and the Marketplace Fees of Amazon.co.uk. I have written a blog post all about Amazon Fees here – how much does Amazon take?
