Is Facebook the Perfect Form of Marketing?

Surely Facebook is just for putting up your Holiday Snaps?

 

Well if that is your view, up until 12 months or so ago, i would probably have agreed with you.

 

Don’t get me wrong, plenty of people still use Facebook to remember what they did the night before-and will continue to do so and good luck to them.

 

Facebook now though is a very powerful method of marketing your business to potential and existing customers and could be argued is a perfect form of marketing.

Marketing Your Business with Facebook
If you haven’t taken the leap yet, essentially what you need to do is set up a branded ‘Business Page’ in Facebook-this is different to the page you put your holiday photos on.

 

Then you need to add in relevant content which is going to be of interest to your customers-this could be hints and tips but is not about blatantly selling your business-that will put visitors off.

 

You can promote your Facebook page through traditional marketing methods (letterheads, car livery etc) as well as through Targeted Ads on Facebook to your potential customer group. A potential client would click on the Targeted Ad and be taken to your Facebook page. Your intention is to convince the new visitor to ‘Like’ your page. Once this is done they then receive the content that you put on your Facebook page-a bit like the modern day equivalent of signing up to your email newsletter!

 

What makes Facebook so perfect for marketing your business is that you can very accurately specify where you target your ads-so that only the targeted recipients will see the ad. For example if you are targeting Architects in your marketing, you could promote yourself to the 78k people who list themselves in Facebook as Architects or in the Architectural Profession-extremely powerful!.
