You may have heard of the terms ‘Inbound and Outbound’ Marketing but are maybe not quite sure what they mean.
Essentially Outbound Marketing involve ‘one way’ traditional methods of marketing such as Print, cold calling etc.
Inbound Marketing Involves more innovative forms of marketing such as Search Engines, Referrals, Video Email Marketing, Social Media-where customers come to you!
Who, do you think is in charge of the business relationship where you are undertaking Outbound Marketing eg Telemarketing, Cold Calling, essentially trying to convince the potential customer to business with you? Clearly they are. They hold all of the cards in that relationship and are definitely in charge.
I shan’t insult you therefore by asking who is in charge of the relationship when a prospective customer comes to you (as a result of Search Engines, Referrals, Video Email Marketing, Social Media etc). Clearly you are.
I can assure you as well that when customers come to you (instead of you chasing them) it is a much more satisfying relationship and I have to say, a much more profitable one as well.
So wouldn’t it be better to set up your marketing systems to fit the Inbound Marketing approach, than the Outbound one.
